Understanding and Responding to Self Harm (Primary and High School Parents)
Self-harm is an increasingly common issue that parents struggle to understand or know how to respond to.
This presentation gives parents the opportunity to hear national trends and statistics as well as evidence based strategies to approach the topic of self-harm. Parents will also learn the psychology behind self-harm,
where to refer to and what to do if they suspect their child is self-harming. It also focuses on self-care strategies and ways
we can encourage young people to manage stress and negative feelings.
